PM Modi welcomes the birth of Telangana

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a series of tweets, has welcomed the birth of Telangana as the 29th state of India. The PM also said that Telangana will add strength to India's development journey in the coming years.

The PM hailed the sacrifices of the people in creating the newest state of the country. His tweet said, "Telangana's birth comes after years of struggle and sacrifices by several people. We pay our respects to them today."

Prime Minister Modi also congratulated K Chandrasekhar Rao on taking oath as Telangana's first Chief Mnister. He also conveyed his best wishes to the people for the state's development journey.

K Chandrashekhar Rao was sworn in as Chief Minister and ESL Narasimhan as the Governor of Telangana early this morning.
