Police constable killed in Delhi

A police constable was killed and another sustained serious injuries after being shot at by three unidentified people near a Delhi police station early on Monday morning.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Vikramjeet Singh said the two policemen were trying to stop three men travelling in an auto rickshaw, and the latter opened fire at the former. One of the constables was hit in the chest and died. The other is in hospital recovering from injuries to his back, he added.

The attackers managed to flee from the spot after the encounter. The police are investigating the matter.
