A police constable, identified as Balmukund Prajapati, of Madhya Pradesh's Chhatarpur area was shot dead late Thursday night.
The constable was shot by unknown assailants at the market of the police station area during a night patrol.
The police have begun the investigation in the case. Further details are awaited.
