The portals of the Himalayan shrine of Kedarnath have been opened for the pilgrims amidst chanting of Vedic hymns and puja today morning.
The portals of Gangotri and Yamunotri temples have also opened and with this, the Chardham Yatra has commenced in the State.
According to reports, the portals of the world famous Kedarnath Shrine were reopened today morning at 7:00 a.m. with offering of pooja and chanting of vedic hymns after the winter closure.
The occasion has seen the presence of thousands of pilgrims in the Kedarnath Dham.
All arrangements for the facilities and security of the visitors have been completed at the stay points along the yatra route.
The portals other Himalayan shrines of Gangotri and Yamunotri will also be opened for pilgrims today, while the portals of the Badrinath are to be opened on May 11.
