External Affairs Salman Khurshid on Friday said that the Congress would only function under the leadership of party Vice President Rahul Gandhi, and added that it is not their problem if someone did not understand what the word 'leadership' meant.

"The party will function under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi and the working committee has taken this decision," said Khurshid.

"It is very clear what we are trying to mean when we use the word 'leadership'. It is not our problem if someone does not understand the meaning of the word," he said.

Commenting on the battle that is going to take place between the parties in the Lok Sabha elections in 2014 he said that the fight was not between parties but different mindsets.

"I would like to repeat what Congress President Sonia Gandhi said today, that the fight in the country is actually between the progressive thinkers, and the orthodox. Between those who believe in secularity, and those who want to divide the country," he added.

"Sonia Gandhi at the AICC meet said that the decision taken by the party that Vice President Rahul Gandhi will be the poll panel head is final, and that the Congress was ready for the battle.

This meeting has been organized to strategize the party's move ahead of the 2014 Lok Sabha election, and will also be deciding the role of Rahul Gandhi.
