Former Delhi Principal Secretary Rajendra Kumar, who is involved in a corruption case, was on Tuesday granted bail by a special CBI court in Delhi.
Kumar, who was arrested by the CBI on charges of corruption earlier this month, was granted bail on a personal bond of Rs. one lakh.
CBI judge Arvind Kumar, while granting bail to Rajendra, told him that he cannot contact the witnesses, or tamper with evidence in the corruption case.
The court also imposed travel restrictions on him and ruled that he cannot travel outside Delhi without its permission.
Special Judge Kumar had sent Rajendra and six of his co-accused, including R.S. Kaushik and G.K. Nanda, the present and former managing directors of public sector company Intelligent Communication Systems India Limited (ICSIL); Tarun Sharma, a Deputy Secretary in the office of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal; Dinesh Kumar Gupta and Sandeep Kumar, directors on the board of private company Endeavour System Private Limited (ESPL); and Ashok Kumar, a private individual - to judicial custody after the CBI counsel submitted that further police remand was not required.
