India reached 63-0 at stumps on the second day of the opening Test of the five-match series against England at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium here on Thursday.
At the close of the day's play, Indian openers Gautam Gambhir and Murali Vijay remained unbeaten at their respective scores of 28 and 25.
Earlier, resuming at an overnight score of 311-4, Moeen Ali (117) and Ben Stokes (128) struck scorching centuries to guide the visitors to a massive first innings' score of 537 runs.
For India, Ravindra Jadeja bagged three wickets while Shami, Ravichandran Ashwin and Umesh Yadav finished with two wickets each. Amit Mishra also chipped in with a wicket.
Now, it would be a herculean task for India to reach close to the England's first innings when Gambhir and Vijay resume the play on Friday.
