Rakshak Sahani all set to bring 'CHANGE' in H'wood

New Delhi, May 2 (ANI): Known for his roles in the TV soaps 'Kkavyanjali' and 'Kasauti Zindagi Ki,' actor Rakshak Sahani is all set for his Hollywood flick, titled 'CHANGE the film,' that is based on the Oscars' whitewashing controversy.

Talking about his upcoming venture, the 'My Indian Boyfriend's Mother' star told ANI that the movie 'CHANGE' is about the various struggles that minorities and women face on a day to day basis in the Hollywood entertainment industry. It follows the stories of six main characters, who are from different races and shines light on their background and their struggles.

Talking about the incidences he faced in the West, Rakshak said, "When I first moved to America from Mumbai I came with a dream to become a successful actor here in Hollywood and therefore, was more than excited when I was asked to play a technician on a NCIS type show, I was asked to come to the sets at Universal studios with my headshot to meet the director."

"As soon as I arrived, the assistant director asked me to wait and took my headshot to show it to the director, when the director arrived he saw my headshot and told his assistant that he must have made a mistake and must have not called me, the assistant insisted that I was the actor they had chosen. The director then turned to his assistant and said "He does not look Indian enough". I was shocked when I heard that and wanted to make a movie about it, it started with an incident, but then turned into a full blown idea for a feature film," he added.

Further, when asked if a topic like this will be welcomed by the general audience or not, the actor said that right now in America there is a revolution taking place. People are fed up by the Status Quo and want to see a change. People don't want to see the so called 'popcorn movies,' rather want movies that tackle social issues and create an impact and help make a difference in the way they think and act.

Along with this, Rakshak will be next seen in a slasher film called 'Flesh' and is in touch with the directors and team of 'Ramayan: The Film.
