Tennis ace Serena Williams, who won all the four Grand Slams for the second time in her career, has achieved one more feat in the wake of her Wimbledon victory.
According to WTA, world number one Serena is the first top-ranked player ever with more than double the points than her nearest rival, Sport24 reported.
With Williams on 13161 points and second-ranked Maria Sharapova on 6 490, records dating to the WTA's 1973 founding show Serena's domination to be the greatest in the rankings' history.
The 33-year old American defeated Sharapova in the Wimbledon semi-finals and downed Garbine Muguruza of Spain in Saturday's final to win her sixth Wimbledon title and 21st Grand Slam crown overall.
