Press Council of India Chairman Justice Markandey Katju has said all talks about religious nationalism are anti-national in nature and that the country cannot function in an atmosphere of such divisive talks.

"India is not a country only for Hindus. It's a home to every religion. I don't agree with remarks on Hindu Nationalism. It should be Indian National and not Hindu, Muslim or Sikh Nationalism. These Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Christian Nationalism are all anti-nationalism talks. This country is so diverse and you cannot run this country using divisive talks," he told media here.

He also expressed his concern over India-Pakistan relations and said that the three countries, India, Pakistan and Bangladesh should reunite, which is the only solution to all problems.

"Pakistan is a fake country made by the British do that Hindus and Muslims fight. It is not a country; it has Punjab, Sindh, Bachuchistan which are a part of India. The only solution is India, Pakistan and Bangladesh should reunite and have a strong and secular government, which should be intolerant towards communal hatred," he added.

Justice Katju also said that India needs to be united because the modern industry requires a big market and only then it can grow. He also added that India cannot generate wealth needed for welfare measures for the people till the time the modern industries don't grow.
