Hollywood veteran Renny Harlin has finally bagged his next directorial venture.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Finnish filmmaker has signed to direct Chinese thriller 'The Hanging Coffin' for Shanghai Film Group and Shanghai New Wave Films.
The movie is said to be an action adventure-cum-thriller featuring extreme sports, tomb raiding and mutant creatures.
The story of the movie is penned by Tony Jaswinski, previously known for Blake Lively's shark horror hit 'The Shallows' (2016).
The film will be primarily shot in Chinese, but it is expected that talents from both Hollywood and China will be in the movie.
According to the production members, casting announcements will be made in coming months.
The project was announced Sunday during the first full day of the Shanghai International Film Festival.
Harlin is best known for hit movies like 'Die Hard 2' and 'Cliffhanger'.
