Resolving Kashmir issue will resolve all Indian- Pakistan issues: Imran Khan

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan has said resolving Kashmir issue is the only way to take India-Pakistan relationship forward.

In an interview with a leading Indian newspaper, Khan said that everything stems from Kashmir, both India and Pakistan should hold talks and sort out the issue.

According to the Express Tribune, Imran told Hindustan Times ahead of his session at the leadership summit in New Delhi that Pakistan's then foreign minister, Shah Mehmud Qureishi, who was in India when the Mumbai attacks started, told him the two countries were really close to forward movement on Kashmir.

But Imran said that progress on Kashmir was not expected till electioneering ends in New Delhi and a new government takes charge.

He said that Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh could not take any decision on Kashmir now because elections were looming ahead, adding that the honeymoon period is the best time for any government to take hard decisions.
