Rian Johnson has been reportedly enlisted by Star Wars' makers Lucasfilm to write and direct the movie 'Star Wars
The 'Looper' director is also in the talks to write the treatment for another Star Wars movie 'Episode IX', the Verge reported.
Johnson has been very particular about choosing his projects and the fact that he has jumped on to Star Wars would seem to indicate that he feels he'll be picking up from a strong entry by J.J. Abrams who is filming 'Star Wars: Episode VII'.
However, neither Johnson nor Lucasfilm has yet confirmed the news but Johnson did post a brief tongue-in-cheek movie clip after the reports first broke on Twitter from the movie 'The Right Stuff' in which actor Scott Glenn as astronaut Alan Sheppard, says "Dear Lord, please don't let me fuck up".
