Richie Sambora has slammed Jon Bon Jovi for hinting that the guitarist left the duo's 'Because We Can' tour because of alcohol abuse.

Jovi had earlier revealed that the reason behind Sambora's exit was an issue that he had previously dealt with, Contactmusic reported.

The singer's comment fuelled speculations that he was talking about Sambora's last stint in rehab in 2011 for alcohol addiction, which saw him miss out on 13 shows.

Sambora then announced his exit from their tour in April and cited "personal issues" as the cause.

Sambora told MailOnline that he doesn't have any major problems in his life and he loves his fans and feels bad for them.

"My opinion is Jon wants to see if he can pull off stadiums by himself. He is making it very difficult for me to come back," he said.

He told the publication that Jovi needs to stop talking about him publicly.

Sambora also insisted that he is fine working hard on his fashion company 'Nikki Rich' and it is a private matter.
