Cristiano Ronaldo scored a scintillating hat-trick as Real Madrid progressed through to the Champions League semifinals for a record sixth successive time after defeating Wolfsburg 3-0 in the second leg match at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Trailing 2-0 from the first leg, Ronaldo struck twice in just over a minute to bring the Spanish giants level in the tie inside 17 minutes, Sport24 reported.
The Portuguese international then scored the decisive goal for the 10-time European champions through a stylish free-kick 13 minutes before the final whistle.
Wolfsburg failed to replicate their clinical first leg show as they defended poorly in the first half of the game and endured further blow when star midfielder Julian Draxler limped off injured to be replaced by Max Kruse just after the half hour mark.
