The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has clarified that its chief Mohan Bhagwat did not speak about reservations being given to weaker sections of the society.
In a statement, the RSS said Bhagwat had said that everybody should strive that all weaker sections of society get the benefit of reservation as was the aspiration of makers of the Constitution.

The statement said, the interview, given by Bhagwat to RSS mouthpiece 'Organiser', was not on the subject of reservation, but about integral humanism and should be seen in this context only.
In his interview to Organiser, Bhagwat had suggested setting up of a committee with representatives from civil society to examine who needs the facility and for how long.
