Major streets in and around Rajpath would be blocked for a few hours on Saturday in view of 'Run for Unity' event, in which around 15,000 persons are expected to participate.

The event, which marks the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, is scheduled to be flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Sandeep Goel said Rajpath and Rafi Marg would be closed from 5am to 9.30am, while Janpath and Man Singh Road would be closed between 7am to 9.30am for general public in order to facilitate smooth conduct of the function.

He said, traffic diversions shall be suitably enforced on roads in the vicinity of Rajpath, where participants will arrive in buses and cars.
