Russian Defense Ministry has said that Ukraine's accusations that Russian troops have been deployed in their country are "complete rubbish".
According to CNN, Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk said a day earlier that Russian troops had crossed the border to assist pro-Russian rebels.
Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Major General Igor Konashenkov said that the accusations were aimed at gaining sympathy and investment for Ukraine at the gathering of political and business leaders in Davos, Switzerland.
The West has been for months accusing Russia of support pro-Russian separatists in eastern Ukraine while Ukraine denies all accusations.
The western countries have also imposed various economic sanctions on Russia over its involvement in the Ukraine crisis.
