Congress President Sonia Gandhi's daughter Priyanka Gandhi on Tuesday said she is saddened by the attacks and allegations levelled against her husband, Robert Vadra, and her family.
"My family is humiliated; there are things that are said about my husband. The more they humiliate us, the stronger we become. I am saddened by the attacks, but I have learnt from (former prime minister) Indira Gandhi that the truth becomes courage," said Priyanka in Rae Bareli where she is campaigning for Sonia.
She also said that the Gandhi family has a special bond with Rae Bareli.
"It is election time and the 'tamasha' has started. I don't like asking for votes. I don't like asking anything from you, as you all have given so much to my family. You have given so much to my mother and that's why we have been able to work for you. This is a big achievement for us," she said.
"You have seen what all has been done by Soniaji here. In your time of struggle, she was always there for you. And when she was struggling, you all stood by her. There is a relation between you and my family," she added.
She said the elections, which should be centered on development and issues of the country, are being centered on false allegations against the Congress Party and her family.
