Ahead of Bijapur bypoll in Odisha, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson Sambit Patra along with a delegation of seven leaders from the party's state unit met the Election Commission on Friday.
Speaking to media after the meeting, Patra said, "A delegation of seven leaders from BJP Odisha met the Election Commission to discuss on Bijapur bypoll."
"This is the number two constituency of Odisha and unfortunately few months back the sitting MLA of the constituency died," he added.
Accusing the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) in Odisha of converting offices of Superintendent of Police and District Collector into party one, Patra said, "BJP demands the transfer of both SP and DC for acting as BJP agents instead of IAS officers.
