Sangeet Natak Akademi fest concludes in Agartala

People of Agartala were exposed to a cultural extravaganza of modern and traditional dance and drama through a six-day-long in choreographed 'Nritya Sanrachna' Festival organised by the Sangeet Natak Akademi(SNA) in collaboration with the Information and Cultural Affairs department of the Government of Tripura at the Rabindra Shata Varshiki Bhawan here recently.

Altogether 18 choreographic representations based on specific themes creativity and innovation from different parts of India, including two from Tripura and Manipur were staged.

India boasts of having numerous forms of dance and music but, one has rare opportunity to witness all these forms of dance, music and choreographic works from imminent choreographers and composers of the country without the support of agency like Sangeet Natak Academy, New Delhi expressed the visitors.

In the 2015 edition of Nritya Sanrachna, the audience got an opportunity to witness works of eminent choreographers such as Ratikant Mohapatra of Bhubaneswar, Gopika Varma of Chennai, Sruti Bandopadhay, N. Tiken Singh of Imphal and Madhu Gopinath and Vakkom Sajeev of Trivandrum.

Young dancers and choreographers expressed a desire to see the works of imminent choreographers and composers to hone their skills further.

Both performers and organisers said that such festivals provide a great platform for cultural exchange and enrich cultural heritage along with strengthening national integrity.
