Describing Sarfraz Ahmed as a 'born' leader, former Pakistan skipper Rashid Latif has praised the current captain's ability to lead the team.

He also admired the side's all-rounder performance throughout their emphatic 3-0 T20I series win over world champions West Indies.

The Sarfraz-led team completed the three-match series whitewash after registering a convincing eight-wicket win over the Caribbean side at Abu Dhabi's Zayed Stadium on Tuesday.

Insisting that Sarfraz has the ability to lead the team in all formats of the game, Latif said the wicketkeeper-batsman has great camaraderie with his players and that his domination could be clearly seen on the field.

In addition, the former captain also hailed the Pakistan team for dominating each of the three games despite the fragility of the West Indies line-up.

"The West Indian team lacked quality, especially with the unavailability of their senior players and the last minute change in the coaching staff - Phil Simmons removal. Yet Pakistan must be praised for their performance since they dominated each of the three games and never relinquished their grip on the visitors," the Express Tribune reported.

Meanwhile, former Test batsman and selector Shoaib Mohammad dubbed Sarfraz as a flamboyant batsman before adding that his qualities to lead the team from the front have come to him naturally.

"Sarfraz has gone from strength to strength; he has inborn leadership qualities in addition to being a flamboyant batsman. He bats freely which helps him with his captaincy tremendously," said Shoaib, who closely saw the captain develop his game and captaincy credentials while he was coaching the PIA team.

Pakistan will now head into the three-match ODI series against West Indies, starting from Friday in Sharjah.
