The Karkardooma court will today hear the 1984 Pul Bangash Sikh killings case, involving Congress leader Jagdish Tytler, who had earlier told the court that he was not ready to undergo a lie detector test.
Tytler's counsel told Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Shivali Sharma that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had not given any specific reason in its application, seeking a polygraph test of his client.
The CBI had sought the court's permission for conducting lie detector tests on Tytler and arms dealer Abhishek Verma in connection with the case in which the Congress leader is accused of leading a mob in Pul Bangash area in 1984 that led to the killing of three Sikhs.
Verma had accused Tytler of influencing a witness through money.
The agency had earlier given a clean chit to Tytler, but reopened the investigation after a December 4, 2015 court order in wake of Verma's allegations.
The court had also directed the agency to find out if Verma's statement was authentic.
