A top boffin has warned that in the future, chances are that the world will be ruled by humans who have turned into cyborgs.

Yuval Noah Harari, a professor at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, said that technology was transforming us to the extent that in the coming 200 year, there would be the "biggest evolution in biology" since life first emerged four billion years ago, the Daily Star reported.

The future beings would be as different from us as we are from chimpanzees, he added.

Prof Harari, who's the author of a major book on the history of humanity, said that people were "programmed to be dissatisfied," and since they would always crave for, they won't be able to resist upgrading themselves using genetic engineering and technology.

This means there could actually be 'Terminator' like beings in the future.

He added that humans were already fusing with computers, abandoning traditional religions and worshipping technology instead like in Silicon Valley, where they think even death could be solved by technology.
