A security guard was hacked to death and four others injured after the assailants attacked them at a housing project site in Dhaka's Khilgaon area on Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified Abdus Sattar, 45, of Chandpur.
Khilgaon OC (Investigation) Mohammad Assaduzzaman confirmed the matter, reports the Dhaka Tribune. He said the incident might have taken place over a conflict regarding property.
He said the injured have been taken to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital for treatment.
One of the injured security guard, Mostafa, said that a group of 10 people, including locals, attacked them with sharp weapons at around 2 a.m. local time.
