Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Shahnawaz Hussain today hosted a party at his residence to celebrate the festival of Eid.
Extending greetings of the festival, Shahnawaz Hussain had earlier said, "I hope this Eid brings happiness to everyone, it is a day for everyone to come together."
Finance minister Arun Jaitely and Chandigarh Member of Parliament (MP) Kirron Kher were also present at the party.
"It's the first Eid after Modi came to power, it is a day to start things anew," he added.
Hussain also said, "Idea to take everyone along "sabka sath sabka vikas" has now become an international slogan. John Kerry said very right."
The festival of Eid-ul-Fitr is being celebrated across the country today, with prayers being offered at various historical mosques like the Jama Masjid in the national capital.
