SHEROES the career platform for women has acquired love, relationship, and sexual health counseling platform LoveDoctor in an aim to broaden the type of support and community offered to over 800,000 platform members.
LoveDoctor, a counseling service that has been operating for over two years via web-based chat, SMS, and WhatsApp has answered over 50,000 questions from young people aged 16-25 across the world, but with a focus on India, East Africa, and Southeast Asia.
LoveDoctor.in founder and CEO Avani Parekh joins SHEROES as Director of Community and Empathy with a goal of making SHEROES a one stop shop for women around the world to build their careers, find supportive community, level up their skill sets, and explore new possibilities for their lives beyond the workday.
Avani's focus will be to build the career helpline #AskMonica, and create a seamless platform where women can get any type of counseling and guidance in an empathetic, expert manner. Lovedoctor.in will continue to provide counseling via WhatsApp and email during the transition.
"SHEROES already has a strong community and has become a reference point for all things women and careers. Having LoveDoctor on board will help us strengthen the relationship with community, by offering them deeper support and connect. SHEROES already offers mentoring and career helpline support to its community and this will integrate with those efforts," said SHEROES Founder, Sairee Chahal.
"Women need to navigate several issues, as they navigate their work and life and having LoveDoctor become part of the SHEROES family will help us address those needs. It is a good time to put women's needs and aspirations on nation building map," added Chahal.
"Joining forces with SHEROES allows LoveDoctor to bring essential counseling to hundreds of thousands of women. I hope that through this merger women feel safe, supported, and heard every single day through our counseling and other support channels. No one should feel alone. While the men have always used Lovedoctor frequently, we know that women have questions about love, relationships and sex too - but are shy, scared, or fear retaliation if they ask," said Avani Parekh.
SHEROES is the largest careers community of women, with members from over 20,000 locations. Over 12,000 companies actively use the platform. SHEROES runs a career support helpline via phone and app. It also has its communities spread in all major cities across India including major metros, and upcoming cities like Jaipur, Indore and Pune.
With a low women in workforce ratio and over a 300 million women ready to connect to opportunities and financial independence, SHEROES has built a unique organization with women's careers and aspirations at the center.
