 "Shiv Sena MPs should apologise for Maharashtra Sadan incident: Advani")
Veteran Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, Lal Krishna Advani on Wednesday expressed regret off- the-camera, over the incident of Shiv Sena MPs allegedly forcing a Muslim man to break his fast and hoped that the concerned MPs would offer an apology.
"What happened isn't right, even Parliamentary Affairs Minister has spoken against it, believe concerned MPs have apologized," Advani said.
As soon as the Lok Sabha met for the day, several Opposition members raised the issue and termed it as violation of religious beliefs. This led the Lok Sabha Speaker, Sumitra Mahajan to adjourn the house twice.
In a highly insensitive act, 11 Shiv Sena MPs allegedly forced a Muslim catering supervisor to break his Ramzan fast at Maharashtra Sadan in New Delhi last week.
The MPs were apparently angry over not being served Maharashtrian food.
The Maharashtra Sadan has apologised to the employee even as the Shiv Sena has denied the incident.
