Shuttlers Jayaram, Prannoy enter second round of Macau Open

Ace Indian shuttlers Ajay Jayaram and HS Prannoy progressed through to the second round of the Macau Open Grand Prix, while top seed Kidambi Srikanth failed to cross the opening hurdle on Tuesday.

Jayaram, who won the Dutch Open and reached the Korea Super Series final, overcame Hong Kong's Tam Chun Hei 21-6, 25-23 in men's singles contest.

Seventh seed Prannoy produced a battling performance to claim a 21-15 16-21 21-18 win over Indonesia's Sukamta Evert. Meanwhile, 15th seed B Sai Praneeth defeated Fikri Ihsandi Hadmadi of Indonesia 21-18 23-21.
