SIMI man Abu Faizal convicted for killing constable

A special court here on Friday found a Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) man Abu Faizal guilty of killing a police constable of the Madhya Pradesh Police.

He had killed constable of Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) Sitaram Yadav in 2009 in Khandwa.

The quantum of punishment, however, will be pronounced on Saturday.

The sections under which he has found guilty provide maximum sentence of life imprisonment or death sentence.

There are also other case against him, including blasts, murder and dacoity.

Abu Faizal had escaped with his other colleagues from Khandwa jail in 2013.

The court found his colleague Mehtab guilty under the Arms Act.

Abu Faizal was presented in the court through video conferencing during the hearing.
