Simon Cowell has revealed that he wants to be at the birth of his first child with Lauren Silverman.

The 54-year-old music mogul has changed his mind and has told his pregnant girlfriend that he doesn't want to miss such an important moment and has decided to get over his phobia of delivery suites, the Daily Star reported.

It is believed that he changed his mind after spending a romantic Christmas with the 36-year-old New York socialite in Barbados, where she asked for his support when she gives birth.

Cowell had previously insisted that he does not want to be at the birth and said that he would instead wait in a room next door.

Lauren is due to give birth at the end of February and a team of top doctors have been placed on permanent standby.
