A new survey suggests that the average single British man swaps his bedding every three months.
More than half of the survey respondents were between the ages of 18 and 25, the New York Daily News reported.
What may be worse is that nearly half of those respondents (49 percent) in the survey conducted by UK mattress company Ergoflex reportedly said that they thought their unsanitary habits were acceptable, while 19 percent confessed they just don't care.
The average single woman, on the other hand, changes her sheets every two-and-a-half weeks.
People in relationships tend to wash their bed linens more often, according to the survey.
However, in 81 percent of couples, the woman usually takes care of the sheets.
Men and women aged 35 to 50 are the most likely to change their sheets on a weekly basis.
