Sir Paul McCartney has revealed that the most inspirational words he has ever heard came from legendary guitarist, Eric Clapton.

The 71-year-old told the Daily Star that once, someone said that a certain major star was very humble, to which Clapton replied that 'the great ones usually are.'

The Beatle legend was replying to a US fan who asked on his website forum for the most inspirational thing ever said to him.
