Two daughters of an ex-army man were found with their throats slit in their home in Ram Vihar colony in Lucknow.
Police said the culprits possibly entered with intention to rob.
The older daughter had completed her B.Tech while 18 year old Sonam Singh was in the 12th grade.
Inspector General of Police Satish Ganesh, Deputy Inspector General of Police Praveen Kumar and BJP MLA Suresh Srivastav were at the scene a short while ago.
The crime branch and forensic teams have been called in for an analysis and post mortem.
