The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the journalist Gauri Lankesh murder case has submitted the additional chargesheet against 18 accused persons in Special Court for Karnataka Control of Crimes Act (KCOCA). The deadline for filing the chargesheet was November 27.

The chargesheet is of 9235 pages.

The SIT also sought permission from the Court for further probe.

So far 17 people have been arrested in connection with the case including Amit Degwekar from Goa and Amol Kale from Maharashtra.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in August recovered the pistol used for killing her while investigating the Narendra Dabholkar murder case, thus establishing a connection between the two murders.

The senior journalist was murdered at her house in Bengaluru on September 5 last year in May.
