Sofia Vergara has been recently named TV's 'highest paid actress' by Forbes magazine for the third consecutive year with the estimated earnings of 37 million dollars.

The magazine stated that at 42, the 'Modern Family' star continues her streak in large part due to her business savvy, stuff.co.nz reported.

Mariska Hargitay, who stars in the longest-running drama series currently on TV, bagged the second place on the list with 13 million dollars; while Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting earned the third place with 11 million dollars.

Julianna Margulies, of the CBS legal drama The Good Wife, was in a three-way tie for fourth place with Ellen Pompeo, of the ABC drama Grey's Anatomy, and Cobie Smulders, of the CBS sitcom 'How I Met Your Mother'. Each actress earned an estimated 10 US million dollars. Whereas, the fifth position was reigned by Alyson Hannigan with 9.5 million dollars.

The top 10 actresses on the 2014 list made a combined 140 US million dollars. That compares with the 214 US million dollars combined earnings of the 10 leading TV actors.
