Authorities at the Government College of Education here organized state level workshop-cum-seminar on Friday based on an assessment and evaluation system of examinations.

The college has said the seminar is for the benefit of students and an aim to bring transparency in the evaluation system and build more trust.

The increasing ratio of students and introduction of new subjects in the curriculum has led the faculty to face different types of small problems during the exams and the evaluation process.

Principal of the Institute of Advanced Studies in Education (IASE), Professor Parveen Pandit said, "There has been a growing realization that the existing evaluation and assessment system of examination is deficient in several ways", and it needed to be immediately addressed.

The workshop was addressed by as many as twenty speakers who spoke on different subjects through power point presentation which was witnessed by hundreds of students and scholars who actively participated in the event.

"Responsibilities of faculties get automatically increased towards students with the addition of new subjects in the curriculum. In this context, it's our responsibility to bring transparency in examination and evaluation system," added Parveen.

More workshops are planned to organize to bring development in the current education system.
