Chelsea has reportedly been linked with a 48 million pound move for Liverpool's star winger Raheem Sterling.

Speculations have become rife in recent weeks about Sterling's future at Anfield with Real Madrid said to be circling to land the winger, Metro.co.uk reported.

And while Sterling's contract situation with Liverpool remains up in the air, rival parties are keeping close tabs on the situation, with reports claiming that Chelsea are the latest to show an interest.

With Sterling showing big promise and yet to reach his peak, Chelsea are said to be hopeful that the winger can continue his development in west London.

It is also speculated that Sterling is open to a move away from Anfield, while Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is thought to be keen to add English talent to his squad following the departures of Frank Lampard and Ashley Cole, the report added.
