While the much-anticipated 'Suicide Squad' has hit the cinemas worldwide, its fans in China might face disappointment as it hasn't yet got a released date in the country.
One of the major reasons behind it is that the super-villian movie has relentless violence, plenty of gunfire and explosions and a dark tone, reports The Independent.
However, Warner Bros is still not commenting about the speculations.
Mike Birbiglia, the director of 'Dont Think Twice' though, questioned Motion Picture Association Of America (MPAA) for giving 'Suicide Squad' a PG-13 certificate despite excessive violence showed in it while his comedy flick featuring adults smoking weed landed with the more restrictive R.
"Suicide Squad has machine gun killings and bombings and got a PG-13 rating, Don't Think Twice gets an R because adults smoke pot. Confusing?" In a now-deleted follow-up message on the social media platform, he said: "F**k the MPAA," he wrote on Twitter.
Comedy director Judd Apatow also seconded, "Studios own the ratings board, violence sells so they make pot and sex the scary thing so they seem caring.
To which, Birbiglia replied, "That makes a lot of sense and is insane.
