Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav on Monday condemned allegations made against mathematician and Super 30 founder Anand Kumar, saying the latter was being targeted owing to his family background.
"Someone from backward class who is gaining success is being sabotaged. It's being done when a Bollywood film based on him starring Hrithik Roshan is in the offing. RJD stands in solidarity with him," Yadav told ANI.
The RJD leader also visited the IIT coaching center's founder at his residence.
"I am very happy that Tejashwi Ji came here. He has called me his elder brother, motivating me to continue doing good work for people," Anand said post his meeting with Tejashwi.
Recently, Kumar, who gives free coaching for IIT entrance examination, students landed himself in a major controversy, where he was accused of owning property via illegal means.
Reportedly, some of his students also alleged that Kumar made a misleading claim this year about 26 out of his 30 students have cleared the IIT JEE exam and informed that only three from the Super-30 batch managed to pass the exam.
Super 30 institute gives training to meritorious students from different underprivileged sections of the society for the JEE exams.
A biopic on the mathematician is also in the making, starring Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan and debutant Mrunal Thakur.
Directed by Vikas Bahl, the flick will hit theatres on January 25, 2019.
