The pilot of CBS's upcoming superhero series, 'Supergirl,' has hit the net six months before it was supposed to air.

Torrent sites are carrying two versions of the 46-minute episode, one in full HD and another in lower resolution, with BitTorrent news site TorrentFreak calling the leak a "complete surprise," the Verge reported.

The series centers on Superman's cousin Kara Zor-El, played by 'Glee' star Melissa Benoist, who's coming to terms with her newfound powers, as well her life as normal human (Kara Danvers) in New York City.

It is rumoured that the leak might be a marketing ploy by CBS to excite viewers as the episode is said to be free of any watermarks or warnings that would put it in advanced screening copy category.
