The co-publisher of DC Comics, from where Superman and Batman originated, has claimed that superheroes are not meant to lead happy personal lives.

The man in question, Dan DiDio, asserted that heroes are committed to being that persona and committed to defending others at the sacrifice of their own personal interests, the Daily star reported.

Two writers of the publication had recently resigned because they were not allowed to let Batwoman, created in 2006, tie the knot with her lesbian lover.
