Sushma was silent when Modi snooped on woman: Digvijay Singh

Congress leader Digvijay Singh on Tuesday asked Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sushma Swaraj where she was at the time of the snooping row and the Asaram Bapu sexual assault case.

"She hasn't said a word on the Asaram Bapu case yet. When Modi encroached on the privacy of a woman, she was silent at that time also," said Singh, while referring to BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.

"Other than this, she posts tweets on a variety of issues. She should take an unbiased stand on this issue. Law will take its own course," he added.

Sushma Swaraj had on Monday, posted a tweet on Twitter, saying, "I strongly feel that Justice A.K. Ganguly should resign as Chairperson of West Bengal Human Rights Commission (WBHRC),"

She further added, "Not only Caesar's wife, but Caesar too must be above suspicion,"

Former Supreme Court judge A.K. Ganguly, has been accused of sexually harassing a law intern in a hotel room in Delhi last December.

A silent protest was held outside the WBHRC headquarters in Kolkata on Monday demanding the resignation of Justice Ganguly.

However, in an interview to CNN-IBN, former Attorney General of India Soli Sorabjee said Ganguly's resignation would set a bad precedent.

Justice Ganguly is on record, as saying that he was shocked and shattered by the allegation and denied all the charges saying he was a victim of circumstances.

He had added that the intern was like a child to him and had worked with him.

"I am a victim of circumstances," he claimed.
