Senior Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi has accused Telangana Rashtriya Samiti (TRS) "thugs" of looting the state of Telangana.
"The newly-born state of Telangana has been looted by TRS thugs. They have turned Telangana into a graveyard of broken promises, a legacy of breach of trust, a betrayal of public emotions, and denial of all expectations of Telangana public," he said while addressing a presser in the capital city of the poll-bound state on Sunday.
The senior Congress leader further said that although TRS Chief K Chandrashekhar Rao claimed that no government land in Telangana was passed on to private hands, a TRS senior leader purchased 50 acres of land in Hafeezpur.
"The Telangana government has failed to provide free education from KG to PG as promised. KCR has shut down 4,200 government schools. They have also failed to regulate the school fee loot by corporate and private management. TRS has done a scam in mission Bhagiratha by spending Rs 45000 crore on a single project executed by a single contractor. Kaleshwaram is being built with a cost of Rs 80,000 crore were against the original cost of Rs 38,500 crore," he added.
Responding to a question on Congress leader Vilasrao Muttemwar's recent comment on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's mother, Singhvi said that he is not obliged to comment on anybody else comments.
Polling in Telangana is scheduled to be held on December 7 to elect the representative for 119 assembly constituencies. The counting of votes will take place on December 11.
The Telangana Assembly was dissolved prematurely in September this year on the recommendation of the ruling TRS government.
