Telangana will join the Uday programme today, which was introduced by the Government to bailout electricity distribution companies from their losses.
Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao welcomed the FRBM relaxations which provides loans to the distribution companies.
Later, the Chief Minister's Office in a release said that Union Power Minister Piyush Goel agreed to give more funds under the Din Dayal Upadhyaya Scheme and also to give more coal for power projects in Telangana.
The Chief Minister informed that the usage of the LED lights will be further enhanced in the state, while they have already replaced ordinary bulbs in 12 Municipalities and 26 Nagar Panchayats across the state.
