Superhero spoof 'The Tick' is about to make a major comeback and this time, with Amazon.
Based on the Ben Edlund comic, 'The Tick' TV series aired but nine episodes on Fox in late 2001, but has garnered an ever-expanding cult fanbase ever since; which is probably why Amazon stepped in to order the pilot for a rebooted version of the show, both written and executive produced by Edlund himself, reports Mirror.
The pilot's also landed Transcendence-director Wally Pfister; interesting, considering he's best known as a frequent cinematographer for Christopher Nolan and worked on all three of his Batman movies.
However, both Patrick Warburton and David Burke, who played The Tick and Arthur respectively, will not be returning for the new series; though Warburton will act as executive producer, Edlund is hoping for an all new cast for the reboot.
