As Apple ties up with world's largest mobile carrier China Mobile and heads towards the thriving Chinese market, the company's CEO Tim Cook has reportedly said that it has been an incredible start with the carrier.
Cook said that after launches in 16 Chinese cities, Apple would be in 300 new Chinese markets by the end of this year.
According to Cnet, it has been a week since Apple's new partnership with China Mobile and the tech giant has revealed that it has enjoyed its best-ever week for activations in China.
The report said that China Mobile, with its close to 760 million subscribers, has more customers than any other carrier in the world, and analysts have predicted that the new partnership would account for somewhere between 15 million and 30 million more iPhone sales in 2014.
Cook further noted that Apple's China business has been glowing as revenues from the company's retail outlets in the company climbed 31 percent with iPad sales up 64 percent and Macs increasing by 28 percent, year-over-year, the report added.
The report said that overall Apple sold 51 million iPhones in the last quarter, which was the most iPhones it has sold in any quarter and was up from 47.8 million in the year-earlier period.
