A man in Birmingham tracked a thief, who stole his car, with the help of software on an iPhone left inside the vehicle.

Andrew Plant took the car after its owner went to a restaurant, while leaving the keys in the ignition, the Scotsman reported.

However, the owner tracked down the vehicle to a road in Small Heath, Birmingham by his phone, which was left in the car and was loaded with a pre-installed tracking app.

The owner then called the police, who arrested 41-year-old Plant, and sentenced him to 12 weeks in jail for the theft.
