Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other BJP leaders have paid their tributes to Rural Development Minister Gopinath Munde who passed away this morning after meeting an accident on Delhi's Prithviraj Road.
Describing Munde as a "true mass leader", the PM also said, "Extremely saddened and shocked by demise of my friend and colleague Gopinath Munde ji. His demise is a major loss for the Nation and the government."
While Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari described Munde's passing away was a huge setback, Sudhanshu Trivedi of the BJP also said, "A major loss to the party and Indian polity. Right now his body is being taken to BJP office."
Meanwhile, the Delhi police say that they have launched an inquiry into Munde's accident and the Indica car which had hit Munde's vehicle has been taken into custody along with the driver.
