The cricket fraternity has come in unison to send heartfelt messages to South African pacer Morne Morkel, who bid adieu to international cricket.
The lanky fast bowler finished with a career-best 9 for 110 in the third Test at Newlands, while claimed two wickets in the concluding Test as the Proteas beat Australia to win a series in home for the first time since 1970.
In his career, had played 86 Tests, 117 ODIs and 44 T20Is, picking up 309, 188 and 47 wickets respectively and called time on his career becoming the fifth on the list of South Africa's all-time leading wicket takers with 309.
On his farewell day, tributes, from team-mates and other international cricketrs, poured in on Twitter for one of the 'nicest guys' in cricket.
Morne's brother Albie Morkel, congratulated his younger brother for his success story and wished him luck for life.
"Well done brother @mornemorkel65. End of a real success story. In the end family wins.. Enjoy life!" he wrote.
Former Australian coach Darren Lehmann wrote, "Congratulations to @mornemorkel65 on a wonderful career and to @OfficialCSA for their series victory."
"Congratulations @mornemorkel65 on an amazing international career! One of the all time great men of cricket and someone who has never sought the limelight but deserves it all! Enjoy having him home a bit more often @Roz_Kelly," Australian cricketr Aaron Frinch tweeted.
New Zealand cricketer Brendon McCullum wrote, "Congrats on a wonderful career @mornemorkel65. Fine, fine cricketer but even better bloke. Surely the mark of a mans achievements. Enjoy the next chapter mate."
